A Little History In Relation To Yale Forklift Trucks
The first manufacturer to invent a forklift truck was Yale Forklift who had
previously been known and are still known as being able to make locks and other
industrial equipment. It was in 1923 that the company first produced a number
of different models of what were to be the forefathers of the trucks they produce
today.
The models they produced back then were:-
- The narrow high platform truck (Model K 20)
- The wide high platform truck (Model K 21)
- The general utility elevating platform truck (Model K 22)
- The low platform truck (Model K 23)
- The three wheel tractor truck (Model K 24) - which was produced in 1929
But after spending years building these trucks they began to introduce a new
type of forklift truck which was powered using batteries. Plus they were the
first company to build a truck which came with a clamp attachment. Then in 1931
the business was moved to Philadelphia where the headquarters are still to be
found today. It was here that all the production of every type of truck was
carried out and then by 1933 Yale had started to build hand trucks as well.
Slowly as time progresses the company begins to open even more manufacturing
plants around the US to help keep up with the demand for their vehicles.
Today the company is still manufacturing forklifts but they now have plants
in both the US, Japan, Italy, United Kingdom and a number of other locations
around the world. Today their list of trucks that they make include the following:-
- Electric forklift trucks
- Narrow aisle forklift trucks
- Pneumatic and cushion tired trucks
- Motorized hand trucks
Each model is designed to lift weights from 2,000 to 36,000 lbs in total. Each
Yale forklift truck whether it be electric, gas, LP gas or diesel powered they
each come with a comprehensive service program. Plus if a company wishes to
they can arrange for Yale to carry out all the servicing, providing of parts
as well as training for their operators of the trucks. As well as offering all

Because Yale forklift trucks have been round for well over 80 years now they
have built a name as being one of the best if not the best manufacturer of these
types of vehicles today. Certainly if you were to look around any manufacturing
or warehouse facility you would probably spot at least one Yale forklift truck
